Notice is hereby given, that by virtue of a
judgment and decree in foreclosure Of mechan
ics lien rendered and given by the District Court
of the Second Judicial District, in and for the
County of Ramsey, and State of North Dakota,
and entered and docketed in the office of the
Clerk of said Court in and for said County, on
the 10th day of May, 1900, in an action wherein
A. D. Cleveland is Plaintiff, and Charles Nel
son. Pauline NelBon, R. W. Nickle and Ruth
Nickle are Defendants, in favor of the said
Plaintiff and against the said Defendants for
thesum of Eighty-four dollars and Eighteen
cents ($84.18), which judgment and decree
among other things directed the sale hy me of
the real estate hereinafter' described, to satisfy
the amount of said judgment, with interest
thereon and thp costs and expenses of such sale,
or so much thereof as the proceeds of such sale
applicable thereto will satisfy. And by virtue
of a writ to me issued out of the office of the
Clerk of said Court in and for said County of

mortgage executed and delivered by Robert
Brouse and Clara Brouse his wife, mortgagors,
to The Bank of Mmot, dated the 12th day of
August, 1890, and filed for record in the office of

August, 1890, and recorded in Book O of
mortgages, upon page 18 and assigned by the
said The Bank of Mmot, by A. B. Guptill,
Receiver, to Wm. H. Brown, Trustee, which as
signment has been duly recorded and whereas,
no action at law, or other proceedings has been
had to collect said debt or any part thereof
will be foreclosed by a sale of uie premises in

corps of the United States, as a private soldier,

Contest Notice.
Department of the Interior, United States Land
Office, Grand Forks, N. D., April 21,1900.
A sufficient contest amdhvit having been filed
in this office by John A. Vernon, of Conway,
N. D., contestant, against Arthur L. Noel,
homestead entry No. 16221, made October 26,
1897, tor the southwest quarter of section 26,
township 156 north, range 60 west, by Arthur L.
Noel, contestee, in which it is alleged that the
said Arthur L. Noel never established a resi
dence never built a house never did any
breaking, or made any improvements of any
kind whatsoever on said land as required by
law previous to his death in September 1898
since his death his heirs have failed to cultivate
the land in any way or cause the same to be
done, and up to this date they have made no
improvements whatever, and that Baid absence
naB not been caused by employment in the
military or naval service of the United States,
said parties are hereby notified to appear,
respond and offer evidence touching said alle
gation at 10 o'clock a. m., on June 20, 1900, be
fore the register and receiver at the United
States land office in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
