This suit involved the ownership of the plant of the Cavalier Omnty Courier, and is real ly* judgment against F. A. Willson, of Bathgate, as the principal stockholder of the company. THE city council, at their moeting on Monday evening, decided on taking ac tive measures, in reference to the pur chase anil laying out a city cemetery. On Monday afternoon next, they are going in a body to view different proposed sites and expect to ge*. the matter settled at once all of which is very commendable. The city marshal was ordered to clear up Second street so as to have a crossing at the end of the on the N. P. track, near the mill. T.IIOS. Mr. Geroux is is one of the oldest residents, and as a business man, has done a great deal for the -im provement of P.iubiua, while Mrs. Ge roux and her daughter have been bright oruainents iu a large social circle. A pleasant and en tertaining feature of the program, was the singing of the children of the public schools, of patriotic songs, to which they had been trained by their teachers, Misses Foster and Wilkins. At the close a resolution was unanimously passed, fa voring tlie placing of the flag 011 every school house iu the county. On Friday evening, an entertainment was given by the teachers, consisting of music, recitations aud readings. Tlie program was filled by the teachers as follows: Instrumental music by Misses Foster and Best song by Prof. Ilyde Recitations, "Poor Little ,loe," by Miss 'lubbs "'J'ho Watch Tower Bell," by .Miss Wing "Kubenstein," by Miss Tiilotson, reading, "The Chariot Race," by Mr. Stock well. These were followed by a short accouut of the escape from a rebel prison aud recapture bv bloodhounds, by Prof. Ogden. All the numbers on the program were well tendered aud well received by the audience. The same evening, llio teachers and other invited guests were given a tree ill it al ion to spend a few happy hours dancing to tlie music of the harp aud violin, and Kittson Hall, beautifully dec orated, was filled to its utmo&t dancing apacity with the merry efftwd.
