At a conference between representatives of the Lumber Carriers' Association and the International Long shoremen's Association an agreement for the loading of lumber for tljc season of 1!)17 at 311 ports in Michigan, Wiscon sin and Indiana was readied. Wages are increased to 55 cents an hour for day work and 82i cents for overtime. If men are ordered out on Sundays and there is no work for them they will re ceive two hours' pay at overtime rates. Huffalo. Union longshoremen have raised wages 10 per cent for the un loading of lumber in the ports of Chi cago, Cleveland, Detroit and Buffalo. Local No. 405 (grain elevator employes) of this city has raised wages 20 per cent and substantial increases have been se cured by Local 100 (grain shovelers).
