squeaks of the speaking tojs and the
toot of the horns coming from the
eldors as well as the children
After the return to tho front par
lor and the bestowing of the gifts an
impromptu program was rendered.
Christmas Bongs, old time experien
ces and selected readings composed
a diversified and highly entertaining
literary hour.
Recitations by Edna Canan, en
titled "Santa and the Chimney Top,
and Thelraa Canan, "My Emily
Jane", were especially praise worthy.

The home tree celebration Is an
annual affair with the Canan fam
ilies, it being a home coming and re
union for the eastern relatives. The
place of next year's meeting is not
yet definitely decided upon, but will
no doubt be at the residence of Prof,
J. H. Canan, Flndlay, Ohio.
