H. train, ar riving at the Inn at 9 oclock. The dining hall, with- its waxed floor and the sweet strains of a stringed orches tra, made the dancing hours very en joyable. At 10 oclock a two course supper consisting of chicken salad, sand wiches, coffee, ices and cakes was served from tables placed in 'the patio, which was illuminated with Japanese lanterns. The party drove back to El Paso in the moonlight. Two largo floats had come down from El Paso, and on tnese a bounti ful supply of hay had been placed, and the entire fraternity party enjoyed a ride back to El Paso. Mr. and Mrs. F E.' Repre sentative Norris, of Nebraska has in troduced into the house a motion for uniform laws of marriage and divorce in the several states. His resolution asks that the president retfuest each governor to send a representative tp a meeting to be held in the hall of the house of representatives. The gather ing will report its findings and rec ommendations to the president, who shall forward them to the governors, with the request that they lay the same before the state legislatures. , . J v The Men's Bible class of the First Christian church held an Interesting meeting at the church on Monday even ing, when addresses were made by S. S. Cash, E. J. Snyder and Percy Mc Ghee, relative to the class work. A social hour with refreshments and general good time followed the busi ness session. Mrs. Charles M. Lyman will be the next hostess for the St Clements' Sewing Circle, at her home, 1509 North Campbell street. The Sewing Circle of St Clement's will meet next week at the home of Mrs. C. H. Lyman. The regular meeting of the Wo men's Missionary society of the Cal vary Baptist church will he held in the church parlors. Mrs. C. C. Whit tington and Mrs. J. M. J 2 2 & An announcement of unusual inter est to El Pasoans Is that of the en gagement and approaching marriage of Miss Gladys Dyer, of Waco, to Edward W. Kayser, of this city. Miss Dyer has visited In El Paso a number of times and Is well known, her charming per sonality having won for her many friends. Mr. Kayser is one of El Paso's pop ular young men and has here a host of friends. He is the cashier of the First National bank and has varied business Interests in the ,clty. The Waco Times-Herald of August 6 con tains the following: "At 1:30 on Thursday the most inti mate friends, of Miss Gladys Dyer were entertained at luncheon at the hand' some Dyer home on Herring avenue. Mrs. Dyer and Mrs. Greenwood received the guests, assisted by Miss Gladj's Der, who wore a charming lingerie frpck which was most becoming. The sunflower, the emblem of consistency, was chosen as the favored flower. The place cards were handpainted In sun, flowers, the artistic work of Connell Greenwood. The rich drawnwork luncheon cloths were laid over yellow satin, and sunflowers and maidenhair ferns were the central decoration of the tete.-a-tete tables, three in number. around which the happy party of girla gathered. "Seven courses, prettily served, car ried out the sunflower Idea, and during the last course Mrs. L. R. Teague ad dressed the guests. Selecting a sun flower, she began' telling Miss Dyer's fortune, daisy fashion, plucking the petals one by one, and letting them foretell the romance in the language of flowers The rhyme, 'One I love, two I love, three I love, I say," dear to all girls, unfolded a fortune " for Miss Dyer which was as bright as the gold-en-hued petals of the flowers. Very cleverly did Mrs. Teague mnke the an nouncement that in October Miss Dyer would wed Edgar W. Kayser, from the far away border town of El Paso.
