MAJ. FELIX DIAZ REPORTED EXECUTED Rehel Officer Charged With Ineiting Alutmy and Deserting. It i. rumored in Juarez that Ma. iFelix Diaz, who was arrested by mill-tar- authorities in Juarez Thursday ght. -was executed at 11 oclock Friday light but Col. Pascual Orozco, military :OTiJininder of the town, will not admit iat this has been done, saying that laz has been sent to Bachimba, where If'e rebel and federal forcos are ex- pected to meet The military com mander, however, speaking of Diaz, said Maj. Diaz misht now be with the angels, for all I know." The cause of the arrest of Maj. Diaz, according to Col. Orozco, was his re fusal to obey orders and had tried to t?rt trouble among the soldiers In the J town, when he had oecomo intoxicated and had been very disorderly. Other people, some of them military officers, say TMaz tried to get many soldiers free from Jail by force and had threat ened a mutiny. Col. Orozco claims that Diaz had deserted from Bachimba. Maj. Diaz has been a member of the rebel forces of Orozco since the revolu tion opened and previously had been in the Madero revolution. He took a prominent part in the mutiny of the garrison in Juarez last January and later was arrested by the officials of the town as one of the Instigators of t' e mutiny. "When the rebel forces took the town he was released and replaced In position as chief of detectives of the town, the place he hed under the gov ernment of the mutiny for Zapata. Later Diaz wa sarrested by the rebels, but was only kept in jail for a short time, being given his release and going to the south with the troops. The Juarez citizens and officers are decidedly reticent about the fate of Diaz, but many of them express the be lief that he has been put to death. "Anyone caught looting in Juarez in lease of any disorders and trouble in :he town and in case of a reverse at lachimba will be shot." according to 7ol. Pascual Orozco. in answer tto the ear? of many people that thero misht e disorders In the town. He said he did not expect any disorders of any kind from either the garrison or citi zens, but if there tfere any ot this go ing on, they would have to pay the death penalty. crals puroiled the rebel leaders for a time today.
