On this day, on motion of Commis sioner Clifford, duly made and sec onded, it is ordered by the court that the bonds of the Union Bank 4 Trust Company, as county depository, in the sum of 1.00, and as depository of the school funds of said county in the sum of S40.M9 be and the same are hereby approved and that the same be recorded in the minutes of this court as follows: The State of Texas, County of El Paso. Whereas, the Commissioners' Court of El Paso County, Texas, at a 'eb ruary term. 1916. having theretofore advertised as required by law forbids from banks in El Paso, Texas, desir ing to be selected as a depository of the funds of such county, and Whereas, at a meeting af the said Commissioners' Court, held in the City and County of x. Paso, Texas, on the Jith day of February, A. D. 1915. said court opened and considered the bids theretofore made in pursuance to such advertisement, and Whereas, the bid of the Union Bank & Trust Company, of 1 Paso, Texas, acting for itself, was the highest and best bid received by the said Commis sioners' Court, the said Union Bank & Trust Compan, by its bid offered to pay the largest rate of interest per annum for same, said interest to be computed upon the daily balances of credit of tsaid county with said de pository, dnd Whereas, by Section S3, Chapter 154, of the 39th Legislature it is provided that the depository selected shall within five days after its selection ex ecute a bond payable to the County Judge and his successors in office, to be approved by the Commissioners'! Court and filed in the office of the Clerk of said County, with not less than five solvent sureties who shall own unencumbered real estate in the State of Texas, not exempt from ex ecution under the law. of as great value as the amount of said bond, and further provided that said bond shall be in no event for less than the total amount of the revenues of said county for the entire two years, for which the same is made; and Whereas, the total amount of rev enue for the entire two years for which the bond is made will not ex ceed the sum of Four Hundred Thou sand Dollars S400.0M); Now therefore, know all men by these presents. Now should the above conditions and each of them be fully kept and com piled with, this bond is to be null and void, otherwise it is to remain in full force and effect for the enforcement of 'the said conditions and to afford the security for which it is intended. March 9. 1915, On this day, on motion of Commis sioner Orndorff. duly made and sec onded by Commissioner Walling, and on recommendation of the County At torney, -and the Tax Collector, it is hereby ordered that the said County Attorney and said Tax Collector be authorised to employ a capable office man whose duties shall be to prepare statements of delinquent taxes that may be necessary to institution ot suits for the recovery of delinquent taxes, that said employee shall receive a salary of not more than one hundred dollars per month, said salary to be paid out of the General Fumf of then County, that his employment be for a period not to exceed two months un less further ordered by the Commis sioners' Court. Calnan be and be is hereby appointed assistant to the County Physician at a salary of $80 per month. March 9, 1915. M praying that their property, located at the corner of North EI Pas and Vest Missouri streets, known as the "Masonic Tem ple," be released from whatever taxes may be aosessed and levied against it a: this time, and that the same be ex empt from taxation hereafter so long as it shall continue to be used as a purely benevolent Institution, be and the same is hereby granted; and that a copy ot this order be furnished, the Tax Collector and Assessor for their observance.
