Ms widow, it is said, cannot survive.
Lombard! died Thursday at a hospital
of apoplexy. Sigroora Lombard! was
found In her apartments Thrrsday
and with a bottle of poison beside her '
bed. Physicians said she had taken a
large amonnt of It and that she could
hardly recover. Slgnora Lombardl is
12 years aid; her husband was (7. He
was impresario of- the Italian Grand
Opera company, and for years was
manager of what was knows as the
Lombard! Opera company.

Mt. Sinai in charge of the El Paso
lodge, B'nai B'rith, Tuesday evening,
starting at 7: JO oclock.
A number of distinguished visitors
will be here on that day to assist
Rabbi Martin Zielonka and the local
lodge to celebrate the dav Anions;
others will be Rabbi Henry Cohen, of
Galveston, who is well known in 13
Paso and nho will deliver- an address
during the evening. Rabbi L. J. Roth
stein, of Alexandria, La : Rabbi A. B.
Rhine, of Hot Springs, Leon, Schwartz
ana a. a. .rorcneimer. or Mobile. Ala,
will also be here and Will take part in
the program.
Ett Route to San Francisco.
The visitors are on their way to
aan Tanclsco to attend the constitu
tional prand lodge of the Independent
Order Bnai B'rith. Because of their
early departure for the coast Tuesday
evening the services will start promptly
at 7.30. The members of the El Paso
lodge have Invited their families and
friends to the service.
The program will open with a short
address by. Rabbi Zielonka. who will
welcome the visitors and will introduce
them. Rabbi L. J. Rothstein will de
liver the opening prayer; Miss Delia
Rosensteln will sing a solo: H. A.
Forchoimer will deliver the first

Miss-Annie Stolaroff will play a piano
solo. "Exos." by Foerster; Rabbi Henry
Cohen will give an address; Miss Rosa
Goodman will play a piano solo, by
Rudolph Prime, Leon Schwartz will
then speak. A duet by Miss Delia
Rosensteln and Harry Rosenstem will
follow atfer which Rabbi A. B Rhine,
of Hot Springs, will make the closing
prayer.

GENERAL MANAGER G. S. WAID
HERE IN PRIVATE CAR TEXAS
George S. Waid, general manager of
the Sunset-Central lines, and Mrs. Waid
are spending a few days in El Paso.
They arrived on Thursda evening,
their private car. Texas, being attached
to No. 9. Mr. and Mrs. Waid came with
TV. S. Harkness. a director of the G. H.
& S. A., and Henry X. Evans, who have
a private car party en route to the
California exposition.
Mr. Waid was formerly superintend
ent of the EI Paso division. He will
return to Houston Sunday.

RBCOrERS MS' DAMAGES
A jury in the S&th district court
Thursday afternoon brought In a ver
dict of $40 for damages for personal
injuries in favor of E. Hlnojoaa, who
sued the Southwestern Paving com
pany and others.
The verdict was against George &
Brady. The cement company was held
not responsible. Minojosa claimed to
have been injured in a runaway.
