EI," PASO HERALD 6 Tuesday, May 11, 1913. RURAL SCHOOLS TO BEflSSISTED Hudspeth Says New School Law Will Probably Pass at Special Session. The vote on the Gibson Insurance hill, permitting foreign insurance com panies to reenter the state without pavmg the back taxes, will be very loss, according- to state senator Claude B. Hudspeth, who is home from Aus tin. I am not prepared to say whether the bill will pass," said senator Huds peth There Is a great amount of oposition to any change in the Rob ertson law. and on the -other band there are many friends of the meas ure For this reason the vote will be ve-v close. "There is not the same amount of op position to the administration's rural schools bill, -which provides for an ap propriation of J500.S00 yearly for two v ears to be apportioned among the rural schools to assist in meeting the new demands upon the school districts imposed by the compulsory education law which goes into effect In 1916. Liberal Apportionment. 'This bill provides that, in rural districts where the assessment is $50 on the (100 valuation. $100 will be ap portioned In other districts where the enrolment is 200. or less, as much as Jjoo is apportioned. "As originally drawn, it also pro--. ided for district school supervisors nho would visit the schools in the ounties composing their respectue districts, but this feature of the bill has been eliminated. As the measure now stands, there appears to be no marked opposition, ami the bill will un doubtedly become a law." TIP. When You Wash Your Hair Don't Use Soap Most soaps and prepared shampoos contain too much alkali, which Is very injurious, as it dries the scalp and makes the hair brittle. The best thing to use is just plain mulsified cocoanut oil. for this is pure and entirely greaseless. It's very cheap, and beats soaps or any thing else all to pieces. Ton can get this at any drug store, and a few ounces will last the whole fam ily for months. Simply moisten the hair with water and rut it in, about a teas poon ful Is all that is required.
