Young Suggests Trying "Melon of the Prophet" in Valley. The melon of the prophet," a species of cantaloupe which is grown only in the remote sections of central Asia, may become one of the chief products of the EI Paso valley. To secure the seeds, a special caravan will have to be fitted out and sent Into the interior country. That tbe melon would make an deal crop for the valley and that the expense of securing the seed, which would be SUM, would be very small in comparison with the wealth that wonld be brought to the valley, was the statement made to the chamber of commerce directors at their weekly luncheon Tuesday by Dr. C. C Young. Dr. Yeung stated that some months ago he had secured about a pound of the seed of the melon, which is noted for its size and flavor, as well as the fact that it keeps for months. After many difficulties, he finally sent the seed to Hotel Astor, in Petrograd. About the. time the seed arrived, the war broke out and the hotel was con fiscated for military purposes. The seed were lost The suggestion made by Dr. Toung as to tbe possibilities of the melons will be investigated by the agricultural committee. Endorse Ivllleox Celebration.
