N". 31, Feb. 11 For the first time in the history of Las Cruces as a municipality, drunken men can be arrested by city police, whether they disturb the peace or not Action by the city council made this possible. Hereto fore the sheriff and his deputies had power to arrest for drunkenness, but the town police were not given that au thority. The council has passed an ordinance enlarging the powers of the police in regard to drunken men and a number of arrests already have been made. Many Go to Denting.
