The pros pects of a matrimonial alliance for king Alexander are being widely dis cussed and have become an affair of state Since he ascended the throne and Greece joined the entente, the view has been held that the marriage of the young king with a princess of one of the entente countries would be more in the interests of Greece than a private alliance. King Alexander has made it known, however, that he did not approve this view, his desire be ing to marry a younir Greek woman of high character, the daughter of a court official. The Issue thus remains open as to whether the decision will conform Mth what are considered the state's "terests or with the primate inclina- r.ons of the monarch. DAILY RECORD. Mountain Park summer tourists have for the most part returned to their homes at El Paeo and various other X-lacee. There are a few. however, that remain to enjoy the bracing air of September. September and October are the most beautiful months of the year here, with cool nights and fine, clear days, with just enough "tang" in the air to make one feel young again. I have often wondered why visitors do not remain longer in the moun tains. If they understood the won derful benefit to be derived, surely many would do so. Mountain Park is destined, in my opinion, to be the coming resort. Situated as it is at an elevation of 6400 feet, with fine shade, it is easily accessible for automobiles not too cool, not too much rain, and it has many shady nooks and corners where one can spend a quiet hour of meditation. The trouble heretofore has been "no place to stay." Scores of people were turned away each season. We hope to see tnings changed oy tne time next season rolls around. Some Beautiful Homes. No doubt many Herald readers have visited the beautiful Cadwallader park, but few have had the opportu nity of seeing it in its September glory, with Its green lawns, its vari ous flower beds, just now a riot of color. One can hardly realize that only 15 year3 ago it was only a cow range, but the foresighted owner, E. F. Cadwallader, at once saw the pos sibilities, and he has brought beauty out of chaos, or more strictly speak ing, beauty out of a cow range. J. G. McNary's fine summer home is beautifully situated just across from this park. Another El Paso business man who Is far sighted enough to see the fu ture of Mountain Park as a coming summer resort is J. A. Krakauer, who has disposed of his cottage at Cloud croft and has purchased several acres here and will undoubtedly greatly im prove them. A Ret for a Cltr Slan.
