The initiaJ production of the well has not bees determined, bat all who hsre visited the site say it is a gusher. The well was brought in at 1X80 feet. Another big completion has bees made in the Homer field. This is the 2500 barrel -well of the Standard Oil company. It is the No. 3 on the XI t- lI ell tract- section 29-21-7. The proceeds from the sale of these i bonds would be used for the purchase i of needed eanimnent and also for the . i construction of several gaps in the. line in Texas, wnicn. when con structed, will give the Orient a through line from Kansas City to the Pacific coast via the state of Chihua hua, Mexico. One of these gaps is from Alpine through Brewster and Presidio counties to the -Mexican border, where the road will enter the state of Chihuahua, and another ex tends from San Angelo to Bel Kfo where it is contemplated to make connection with the Mexican lines. Interest In the Pecos valley field has shifted from the Ball to the Laura wells as a result of the announcement of the Sunshine Oil corporation, owners of the later welL that the drill bad re entered two and one half feet Into a sand, from which they expected to bring in a gusher. The actual result cannot be known for a few days, as the water In the casing must be first 'Cased off. Casing was ordered by Abner Davis to be shipped to Pecos immediately for the drilling of a well to the new sand found at the 1I9 foot depth. News from that field Indicates that many new 'ocations have been made since the discovery of the new sand. Abner Davis is on the ground get ting leases and making preparations for the completion of the refinery and big work Is under way.
