Can. 'Within 10 minutes after he walked into his headquar ters at Central station chief Wray answered an alarm to 664 North Campbell street, where the residence of J. H. Armstrong was threatened by a small fire under the porch According to the chief his chief impression on the trip was an en larged satisfaction with HI Paso. Has Horse Equipment "1 went from here to Dallas." he said. There the Texas chiefs gath ered and went to St. Louis. We spent one day there and then went to Detroit, where we spent Sunday. Detroit has horse drawn apparatus. There I saw one or two features of apparatus which I found unusually good ana x snau eonsiaer tne adop tion of several minor improvements which I saw there. "From Detroit we went on to To ronto. While at the convention 1 Invited the fire chiefs to hold their next meeting in Bl Paso. Atlantic City and Tulsa, Okla, also made strong bids, but of the three I think HI Paso was the most favored." Visited nlasara Falls. While on the trip the chief spent some time at Niagara Falls. He was one of a party which descended to the lower level and went in behind one of the largest sections of the falls. The party, according to the chief, descended winding stairs for about 466 feet. "Then we circled on a bridge in front of the falls and went to a little house where wo were given clothing for the trip. This consisted of flan nel garments and a slicker with a hood. As one walked out of the houso and behind the falls the spray was so strong that it took one's breath. You could not face that, spray and yet It was a delightful experience to feel it beating on one's back. This was one of the best features of the trip." In St. Louis the chief had the pleasure of locating a boyhood chum, whom be had not seen for years. Price High Everywhere. "Prices here are not worse than In other cities," the chief said. To ronto Is a more or less slow town, but I paid more for meals there than I wonld in El Paso. I found the cities we visited in the United States as high and higher than El Paso." You cannot get the remarkable and unusaal flavor of toasted fiurley tobacco In any other brand. Howls it that this toasting process preserves so successfully theoriginal Burleyflavor? Because it's sealed in. Take the case of the bee and the honey. The bees have the right idea. To lock in that fragrant and delightful flavor of clover honey they put a thin coating of wax over the whole honey-comb. You know yourself that honey can stand unbroken on a shelf for months or years, and be fust as good when it's used. And that's what happens with the Burley tobacco used in making Lucky Strike. In each Burley' leaf there are little pores like a sponge. In the heat of .toasting these pores aro sealed. The Burley flavor is there, inside. When you light your Lucky Strike cigarette or your pipe full of Lucky Strike tobacco the heat releases the Burley flavor for your benefit.
