Died. Miss Clara Southern died at her home near Thorp on Saturday, May 28. She was horn in Linn county, Oregon, in 1872 where her parents lived until I<S77 when they removed to Yakima county living there until 1880 when they came to Kittitas valley, being among the first settlers here. She was apparently a very healthy girl, never complaining until about two weeks ago, when she was suddenly taken sick with intermittent fever which termin ated in brain fever and caused her sudden death. Miss Southern was the youngest daughter of the family and had al ways remained at home, therefore she was her mother's greatest com fort. She had .1 bright cheerful disposition with a smile for every one. All respected and loved her. She leaves a large circle of friends, an aged father and mother, two sisters and four brothers to mourn her loss. The services were con conducted by Rev. Bird at Thorp, .Monday, at 10 a. m.
