But the public can always de pend upon a Goodwyn feature being something distinctly worth while A comedy feature of the best class will be given with the leading attractions. X AT THE LIBERTY. Manager Van Atta has framed up a strong line of attractions for the com ing show week that are sure to give satisfaction to the public. For Satur day evening comes Charles Ray in “The Law of the North,” a story of the country where it is five shirts cold, the land of gold and adventure. With Chas. Ray In the leading role there is ex citement and action to this production. For Sunday evening comes that darl ing of the screen, the pretty Vivian Martin, one of the most popular movie favorites before the public, in “Her Country First.” This is one of the most entertaining comedy dramas in which Vivian Martin has ever appeared, and she has a role exactly suited to her charm, beauty and youth. For Wed nesday and Thursday nights of next week the Liberty theater will pre sent a special production which has proved the hit of hits, it running a solid year in New York, "Oh, Boy,” featuring June Caprice and Creighton Hale, two of the strongest performers in movie work. This is said to be one of the big gest things that has been produced for the screen. Besides the principal at tractions there will be the usual com edy features every night that add to the pleasure of the entertainments. X Mrs. Neal was unable to appear at the Oorvllie Pharmacy some days this week, where she holds a clerkship, owing to a severe cold. Dick Jackson and Joe Ashby re turned hom e Saturday evening from Pullman, it being the end of a semes ter. It is not stated as to whether the lads are to return to college this win ter. A “Hard Times” dance, the first of a series, is announced to take place at the Liberty theater next Friday, the 13th. Most of us are eligible to a place on the floor at a dance of this char acter. X Steve Cloud reports that the flu is prevalent at Conconully, two or three of his son-in-law’s family, Harry Grahlman, being down with the ail ment. Geo. M. Giles, who recently came here ffom the coast, has purchased from Mrs. M. Gilson through Dell Hart 10 acres of orchard land in the Ellis- Forde tracts, a few miles south of town. January was quite accomodating this year. This part of the country had two thaws in that month when accord ing to the general order of things a single thaw is all that could be ex pected. If February continues to drag along a few days more with the mild sample of weather that has so far marked the progress of the month even if cold weather does break in It cannot last long. Judging from the crowds at the pic ture houses Saturday and Sunday evenings either th e population or the movie habit is growing very rapidly, for it requires some people to fill both theaters. Charles P. Radigan, the man who fell under the train at Danville on Decem ber 13th, sustaining such frightful in juries that both legs had to be ampu tated died at the hospital at Grand Forks, January 23. Chas, Powell Sr„ head of the Oro ville Commercial company, has been laid up this week with an attack of the grippe, probably the flu in the mild form in which it is causing so much trouble in this community. It is learned that Harry Hamisch has undergone an operation for appen dicitis since reaching Seattle and that he not only passed successfully through the ordeal but is well on the way to permanent recovery. H. W. Holley, who is Interested largely in th e Submarine mine, and a mining engineer of experience and efficiency, returned last week from the east where he had been on busi ness connected with the mine. The Okanogan Power company has Just received through the Bowen agency about as handsome a Rco truck as has ever been seen on the streets of Oroville. Judson Murray, pioneer resident of this place, now justice of the peace at Oroville, transacted business at the court house in this city Tuesday.— Okanogan Independent. Mrs. F. V. Covert was taken down with the influenza Sunday, and for a time was a very sick woman, but she Is steadily improving according to the last reports from the sick room. NOTICE OF POSTING OF.
