—With Ortie E. McManigai on
the stand, the dynamite conspi
racy trial was resumed here to
day before a packed courtroom,
two-thirds of the spectators be

McManigai began with a de
scription of the Mount Vernon,
111., Job. He said that in April,
1910, John J. McNamara gava
him in Chicago eight quarts of
nltroglycerin and an alarm clocK
devise. Then he went to St.
Louis, and later to Mount Ver
non under the name of Will
Clark. On April 19 he destroyed
the power plant which the Mc-
Clintic-Marshall Construction
company was building.
The nitroglycerln was carried
in a suitcase, McManigai testi
fied, which he kept with him in
the smoking cars, of the trains
on which he rode from Chicago
to Mount Vernon.
