Thats the new stunt put into effect here by the city federation of women's clubs. .lust the other night the first municipal dance waß held and "a good time was liad by all." On the floor were 200 couples enjoying to the limit the steps approved by the women's clubs. The city fathers were on hand at the opening and beamed their approval of the plan. Many of them essayed a "fling or two" around the brilliantly lighted hall. Mrs. E. Hupe, one of the pro gressive members of the federa tion, is an enthusiastic backer of the municipal hops. "My idea," she said, "is to give people who like to dance, but who do not have access to private ball rooms, a chance to amuse them selves in a decent place. A charge of 25 cents will be made upon the men, to pay for music end lights. Women will be admitted free." The dances will be given fort nightly.
