Gilpin has again been chosen to head activities of the Woodbrook Hunt club. The members were entertained on Thursday evening at the attractive home of Mr. and Mrs. Gilpin overlooking the Tennis club and during the evening the elections were held. | Miss Edith Henry was elected corresponding secretary and Miss Dorothy Walker is the new treasurer. Members of the board of directors are Mr. A. Burwood Kennedy, Mr. G. Ponald Cameron, Mrs. William Ryan, Major J. E. Mathews, }!r. Elmer Carlson and Mr. Joseph Gilpin. Miss Iris Bryan will continue as huntsman of the club and Maj. Matthews was named master-of the - fox - hound. Donald Cameron as chairman of the activity commit tee. : - - d Party Honors Miss Simpson For the pleasure of Miss Susan Simpson, who will marry Mr. Robert McLeod Sanders June 4, Miss Joanna Plowden entertained Thurs day evening at a dessert bridge and kitchen shower. During the evening, the honor guest was presented with recipes from each guest, as well as with gifts for her new home. Spring flowers and dogwood decorated the rooms for the occa sion. The hostess was assisted by her sister-in-law, Mrs. John Plow den, during the evening. Honors at games went to Miss Vera Jean Freeman and Miss Susan Simpson. Guests included Mrs, F. F. Plowden, mother of the hostess, Mrs. J. P. Simpson, mother of the bride-to-be, Mrs. John L. Miss Engelbrecht was the chosen Pilgrim for Washington on the Good Citizenship pilgrimage to Washington, D. C., a project spon sored by the national organization of the D. A. R., the honor going to the high school girl whose record shows a high standard for depen dability, service, leadership and patriotism. She has just returned from her stay in Washington and will tell of her impressions, her experiences and interesting con tacts made while there. Friday, April 12, when the registration began, to the farewell breakfast Tuesday, April 16, spanned five happy, active days of specially planned sightseeing tours to the many historic points, to the house and the senate, a visit to the White House, where the girls were re ceived by Mrs. Wallace, wife of the secretary of agriculture. The presentation of the girls at the opening of the séssion of the 49th congress at Constitution hall will probably linger longest in their memories, as the beauty and the significance of the formal opening left a deep impression. - - - Dinner to Precede Aquinas Prom A group of Aquinas juniors will entertain with a dinner party at 7:30 o'clock Friday evening at Hotel Winthrop. Later, they will attend the annual Aquinas prom in the Roof Garden. Girls who will be present at the dinner are the Misses Rosemary Mansfield, Eileen Shaffer, Virginia \Dun, Peggy O'Connell, Margaret ?lllller, Harriet Quinn and Hazel Simonetti. There is a feel ing of sentiment among mem bers of the cast and the entire production crew in working on this last play in the old theater building, and they all are endeavoring to outdo themselves in the production.
