Out of the entire 11 Oroville men in the game, only five were high school men and the entire team outweighed the Colville boys. The reason for Colville's great success was the fact that the boys have been well coached in the new football plays; while Oroville relied upon the older tactics. The fact that Colville's high school has had an up-to-date coach is responsible for getting together a live team, composed as follows: Manager, A. B. Mather; coach, J. A. Johnson; right end, Fullerton; left end, Mantz; right tackle, Lane; left tackle, "Johnnie"; right guard, Knapp; left guard, Crawford; center rush, G. Knapp; quarter, Heritage; right half, Wright (captain); left half, Ledgerwood; full, Holmes; substitutes, Sax and Gilbert. Touchdowns were made by Wright, Heritage and Ledgerwood. Wright kicked field goal. Holmes made first kickoff on which Lane made safety. They used the forward pass once with success and never failed to gain with the Idaho sweep. No punts were attempted. Best gains were made by end and tackle plays. The ground was sandy and obstructed Colville's speed considerably. Strictly up-to-date work, reasonable prices, and the ground floor are some of the inducements we have to offer to secure your patronage.
