During the past week over 7.". men
tried out for the glee club and an j
exceptional amount of talent was dis
played making; the task of selection;
a very difficult one. Judging from
the quality of the voices of the men
selected and 'lie musical and dra-1
malic experience of the successful
candidates the glee club this year has
splendid promise, acording to Direc
tor Butterfield.
There will be no clrla on the glee
club program this year. The spirit j
of the college will be emphasized
throughout the program and the ex
ceptional dramatic talent in the club
this year will have ample opportunity
to excel.
Sydney Allison, soloist on the club ;
last year, is the manager and has j
already made many plans for adver- '
tising and booking the club. All d
vertising matter will be in the col-j
lege colors, crimson and gray. An
extensive lobby display will be car
ried by the club which will probably
travel in a special coach. The club's ;
Itinerary is to be extensive this year
as it has been found a splendid '
means of getting students from the I
other ride of t' c mountains. The
tentative itinerary Is as follows: j
Colfax, Dayton, Walla Walla. Van
couver, Centralis, Aberdeen, Olym
pia, Tacoma, Seattle, Everett, Sedro ,
Wcolley, Anacortes, Bellingham, We
natchee and Spokane.
The college is very fortunate in |
obtaining as director Mr. Butterfield. j
During hostilities and after the ar- j
mistice was signed Mr. Butterfield i
was at the head of a group of French
entertainers and brings back with
him many new ideas in musical nov
elties as well as the ability to direct
the very finest of music.
While it is not definitely known |
the club probably will make its tour j
in February, giving the home con
cert toward the lust of tho month.
