Dispaicher Camarillo Works Sundays, Too No one "on say '7‘. L. (Joe) Camarillo is not making any sacrifices for the Cannes Worke-‘s’ 8: Farm Laborers’ Union, Local 7, UCAPAWA, CIO. Joe has no St. days and no holidays when dispatching of men (for the army of food 1». daction) has to be done. On Memorial Day and the following Sunday, Dispatcher Camarillo and his staff worked more than overtime to fill up the requisition; of the Salmon canneries for men in their various Alaska canneries. Don‘t tell Joe he is not earning his salary as Union Dispatcher. Joe is sacrificing valuable time to keep the Union in good standing with the Alaska Salmon Industry so far as the Contract is concerned. This does not mean that the Industry can get tough with Joe. Joe is 100% Union man and no one in the Industry can tell him what to do. “We have Union rules and regulations," Joe would tell any guy from the Industry, “and we mean to abide by them.” Treat Joe right and he will reciprocate; be mean, and you are headed in the wrong direction.
