Urges Observance
Of 'Child
Safefy Month'r
In a campaign to save lives and
limbs of the children of this com
munity. Rizal Post No. 142 of the
American Legion is urging all
citizens of Seattle to observe Sep
tember as “Child Safety Month,"
Post Commander I. A. Arzadon of
Rizal Post No. 142, said today.
As the summer vacation ends
and school begins. the Legion is
endeavoring to impress on the
children themselves as well as
motorists and others the necess
ity in becoming safety-minded.
Commander Arzadon declared.
Good pedestrian habits among the
children of this community can
aid materially in holding acci
dents involving children to a mini
mum, he added.
Legionnaires are (to-operating
with school authorities in promot
ing safety education among the
youngsters and strongly urge par
ents to assist them in every way
possible.
“Sat‘ety education for children
does not apply only to traffic."
(‘ommander Arzudon pointed out.
“Though traffic injuries are the
greatest concern, many other ac
cidents involving children are
equally important. The: American
Legion feels that it emphasis is
placed on child accidents of all
types. during the month of Sep
tember, a greater nwarenesa of
accident posslhillties will remain
with the youngsters and the pub-
