How'd you like to be the Iceman?
No, not one of the kind they sent

for instance.
He Is a former state senator and
started in the ice business with two

The summer of 1901 was the hot

put $600 Into the business. At ths
end of the season he was $45,000 to
the good.
He kept at the business and now
owns ice plants and business worth
$400,000. $400,000. All this Lyons
testified under oath in proceedings
against the Kansas City Ice com

THE COLUMBIA.
A distinctly American drama in
a foreign setting is "Mr. Barnes of
New York," staged at the Columbia
theater this week by the Byron
Douglas company, but the drama
tist ha s handled his subject well
and the result is one of the strong
est dramas that has been seen here
in some time. Miss Brorwne is
doing some of the best work in
which she has yet been seen here,
and the company throughout is
well cast.
THE AUDITORIUM.
There la fun on tap all the time
in Jessie Shirley company's presen
tation of "Whose Baby Are You"
this week. The comedy gives each
member of the company an excel
lent opportunity that is not lost in
any instance. What plot the play
has turns constantly on amusing
and unexpected situatios that pre
serve the fun of the thing from
start to finish. Jessie Shirley
handles her part in her usual satis
fying fashion.

Menageries of the Forepaugh-Sella
Circus Without an Equal.
The great Adam Forepaugh and
Sells Brothers' enormous shows
united, which are to exhibit here
Saturday, August 11, illustrate the
highest development of the modern
circus. Twelve acres of space are
necessary for the numerous tents,
and l the canvas under which the
circus program proper takes placo,
will comfortably accommodate 12,-
--000 people. In this huge area, be
sides the great stretches of rising
seats, are a forest of aerial "fix
ings" for the daring work of trap
ese performers, two great stages
for the variety gymnastic and vau
deville sensations imported from
European capitals; three rings for
circus riding, and a quarter of a
mile racing track for the hippo
