r r o *t 1 PAGE Q N E, WELLINGTON DEPOT The tracks to Wellington may be en la 10 days,, but upon the ar yal of the county coroner, he has Idawrt all bodies taken out. JEW TURNED INTO MORGUE Those bodies put away in tem wery ice tombs have been uncov fed and the little Wellington de )t is so crowded with dead this jorning that survivors, diggers nd newspapermen have accidental stepped on a discolored hand or feot In getting in and out of the -legraph office. Seven undertakers are working 11 the time, and as soon as a body i embalmed it is wrapped in a lanket and tagged. The little Dom for the telegraph operator is le only place in the depot where ac gruesome bundles are not piled p, and every few minutes a new orpse Is dragged up from Death alley. The rescue work has gone on so "everishly no one has taken time o notice what else the avalanche Hd elsewhere. Great majestic Vashington were snapped off ike matches, and in some cases ictually uprooted and carried on. The slide created a new landscape vhere the trains once stood. BODIES OF FOUR CLERKS It will be a week before all the todies are leeovered. Half of them ire not even located. Twelve jodfes in all were unearthed yes terday, but that was an unusually Sigh average. The body of Con ductor J. M. Parzybok was louud last night, and a body previously identified as his is now In the un identified list. Four unidentified mail clerks were also found last night. ONE WHOLE FAMILY DEAD. "Sometimes one laughs that he may not cry," said a philosopher. We tried hard at Wellington yester day, but the laughs were mockery. Though hardened now to the sight of the dead, great, strong men wept at the sight of the Beck fam ily. The father, mother, two daugh ters and little son, lie side by side in the morgue. The little baby's face is crushed into an unrecogniz able mass. TRAINMEN CRY LIKE CHILDREN Trainmen cried like children when Blackburn's and Longeoy's bodies were uncovered. Ballet's hotel, where everybody is living and which escaped the first slide, is now pressed from the rear by a gigantic drift. A new slide would undobutedly wipe out the town and everybody here, including the Injured in the temporary hos pital. No one here or on the trail to Scenic is ever out of danger of fresh slides. The soft snow or rain here is constantly making new and sticky drifts. ~ A FORTUNE FOUND. A, fortune has been found under the avalanche among the wreckage and the dead. Money orders and registered mail from mail train No. 27 and the personal effects of the victims total $30,000. 'i'ue mail sacks are being guarded by govern ment men and the property of the dead Is being looked after by dep uty sheriffs. There have been no more attempts at looting since the arrest of Roberts. Enough food is being packed In daily. VITAL RECORD DEATHS. William Campbell died Friday evening, March 4. at the family residence, E3Ol Third avenue.
