PLAN OF PARADE FOR WOODMEN'S CARNIVAL Formation of M. W. A. carnival parade. May ?. at 7:30 p. m.: Parade will form at Riverside and Monroe. First division—Platoon of police, band consisting of 110 pieces, fol lowed by all tic? members of the M. W. A- and members of the \V 0. W„ Highlanders. Owls and other fraternal organizations. Second division —State and city dignitaries; battalion of city firo department, headed by Chief My ers. Third division—Spokane newspa BLOOD TESTS ARE TO SHOW JUST WHEN MAN AND MONKEY WERE ONE PHIT.APEI.PHIA. April 22— Dr. Edward Tyson Kelcbert. investi gator and professor of physiology at the V. of P.. has published bis observations made in the series of experiments with blood crystals of animals and men. and has. be be lieves, a strong argument In favor of the Darwinian theory of evolu tion. His conclusions nre based on a study of 2500 photomlcroscopic neg atives. These negatives were ob tained from the blood of virtually every species of animal. Evolution observed from a chem ical standpoint is so vast in its possibilities that it will require tbe combined efforts of a hundred in vestigators, working Incessantly for several generations, to complete the task, according to the doctor. Not only will the experiments have an important bearing on the evolutionary theory, but tbe ability to distinguish by comparison of crystals between the different types of man will be of immense importance in the examination of blood in murder trials. By Dr. Reichert'a method it is possible to establish definitely Whether the blood is of man or animal, and to say with a degree of positiveness whether it is the blood of a negro or a white person. GRIGWARESTILL AT LARGE (By United Press Leased Wire.) LEAVENWORTH, Kas , April 22. —Theodore Murdoch and Frank Grigw are, formerly of Spokane, two of the six federal convicts who es caped from the federal prison here yesterday, are still at large. The others have been captured. It is believed the fugitives are unarmed, as those recaptured had dummy revolvers made of painted wood. A posse of 40 guards and a company of soldiers are on the trail and it is believed they will be soon arrested. SIX MINERS' BODIES FOUND (By United Press Leased Wire) AMSTERDAM, Ohio, April 22.— The bodies of six miners were re covered today from the ruins of the Yougheogheny Coal company's mine. Twelve other bodies are believed to be in the shattered mine and there is no hope that they are alive. Eighteen miners were entrapped late last night by fire, which fol lowed an explosion of fire damp in the mine. STUDIO AND THE ELLIOTT CASE Editor The Press: Through the medium of your paper I wish to deny part ol the statement made by Mrs. Elliott, published in last Friday's issue, in which she says that Rosie fell in with two men ■taying. at the studio at Helena and East Sprague avenue. During the winter of 19*18 I had said studio rented while the owner was in Ore gon. Some time during the sum mer before Mrs. Elliott came In with Rosie and the little girl to have some photo work done. From that time on Rosie frequently came into the studio on one pretense or another, and it was during one of these calls that she met the other party mentioned, who was staying With me while his people were in quarantine with smallpox. As for the studio being a meeting place for Rosie Elliott or any one else at the time mentioned, or any other time, I am In a position to say it Is not so. Walter C. Griffith.
