c EIGHT PAGES. PAGE BIX. DAILY EAST OKEGOXIAV, PENDLETON, OREGON. TUESDAY, JANUARY 28, 1908. IT MILS REPORT BY ITC IMS Face and-Feet Covered Rest Broken and Would Cry Until Tired Out -"Cradle Cap" Added to Baby's Torture Tries Cuticura Soap and Cuticura Ointment. IMMEDIATE-RELIEF AND SPEEDY CURE "Mr baby was about nine months old when she had rash on hor face and feet. Her feet seemed to irritate her nights. They would cause her to be broken of her rest, and sometimes she would cry until Bhe was tired out. I had always aod Cuti cura Soap myself, and had heard of so many cures by the Cuticura Remedies that I thought I would Rive them a trial. The improve- tnnnt vm not ipPAhlA in a few hours, and before I had used one bos of the Cuticura Ointment herfeet were well and have never troubled her since. I also used it to remove what is known as "cradle cap" from her bead, and it worked like a charm as it cleansed and healed the scalp at t he same time. Now I keep Cuticura Ointment on hand in case of any little rah or Insect bites, as it takes out the inflam mation at once. Perhaps this may be the means of helping other suffering babies. Detailed Report of the Secretary of ' the Normal Ilixml Slums natter ing Progress for Eastern Oregon School Highest Enrollment for Weston's Xorpuil. t . - C. S. Starr, secretary of the bjnrd of normal school regents, last even ing completed his report for the fourth month of the first semester of the school year, says the Salem Statesman. The report gives a com prehensive Idea of the work of the normal schools of the state and Is withal a very Interesting document. It will be remembered that In 1907 an appropriation was made that was designed to earry the normal schools through until 190S. Recently a change was made l the manner of attending to the work of supervision of the schools, the details now being In the hands of the board of regents exclusively. That the change will be beneficial Is evident, as the board Is now get ting matters In such shape that It will know at any and all times just the financial and professional stand ing of all normals. It Is thought that this new system of close supervision will enable the schools to get through the year 1908 without any deficit. The schools at Drain and Mon mouth are conducted on donations, tuition and other receipts of the schools and the records of the board Indicate that there will be no diffi culty In securing sufficient funds" to operate the schools to the close of the year. The report Just completed by Mr. Starr and which has been submitted to the board, of which the governor is the ex-officio head, gives the fol lowing figures regarding each school: Southern Oreg n State Normal at Ashland Total enrollment to Janu ary 1, 140; average number students belonging. 132; per cent of attend ance, 93; tuition fees collected. $776. 50; balance on hand January 1, $25, 488. This sum will be very material ly reduced by the payment of a num ber of bills that had not been re ceived up to January 1. Central Oregon State Normal School, Drain Total enrollment to date, 78; average number students belonging, 70; average dally attend ance, 69: per cent of attendance, 99; total tuition fees collected, $43; bal ance on hand January 1, $1500. Oregon State Normal School at Monmouth Total enrollment to date, 136; average number of students be longing, 123; average daily attend ance, 116; per cent of attendance, 94; balance on hand January 1. $3, 000. Total tuition fees. $2027.50. Eastern Oregon State Normal School at Weston Total enrollment to date, 182;-average number of stu dents (belonging, 176; average daily attendance, 170; per cent of attend ance, 96. Total tuition fees collected, $1159.44. Balance on hand, $19,500. This amount will be greatly reduced by several outstanding claims. The Weston school has spent several hun dred dollars for repairs and a large amount for a two year's supply of wood, and will need nothing more In these lines until 1909. The secretary's report has been considerably delayed owing to the fact that that data from the Ashland school -has been slow In arriving. la "Everybody Works But Mothers She Cooks With Gas r1 A Cure for Mlry, "I have found a cure for the misery malaria poison produces," says B.
