SPOKANE CLERKS TO COMBINE IX ONE I'NIOV MATRIMONIAL MISHAPS AND HOW TO AVOID THEM Chicago, Oct. 20 Matrimonial mishaps and how to avoid them, was the text of an address delivered be fore the Kilo association, a woman's club, by Rev. D. D. Vaughan, last night. About 200 young women lis tened to the discourse and went to their homes with some of the follow. Ing epigrams to ponder over: Marriage is the normal state, but it Is no longer a necessary state. Women often marry for n home, for money, or because they wish to show some other woman that they enn marry that particular man. Learn to understand your husbands men are transparent. Pretty girls are not n demand; neat girls are. To hold the love of your husbands keep fooling them. Make them be lieve you are the angel they supposed you were before the wedding cere mony. Women should love their husbands more than their children or parents: otherwise they will not be Ideally happy. The minister's subject was "Matri mony," which, he said, he had been studying for over a year and upon which he felt competent to talk. ln- I asmuctl as he had circulated ques tion bearing on that subject to his congregation, and had received over 200 answers. "The idea that a. aman can live cheaper after he is married than he did before s fallacious and mlsled Ing," siil Mr Vaughan. "That Is pos sible only when the candidate for matrimonial honors has spent his In-1 come In riotous living. The single man who has been thriving will find I that when he gets married he will be called upon to spend three times as much for living expenses as he did I before." Spokane, Wash., Oct. 27.
