OUR, 000 gallons of water for street flushing purposes during the month of June according to the report presented to the city council lost night by c. A. Crabtree, street commissioner. Dur ing the month, labor to the umoiint or 15!5 hours was put in on the streets, sewer work and weed cutting. The report has It that the condition of the sewers Is good with no complaints, but numerous complaints are being receied on the prevalence of dust and dirt on the streets, especially on the outer districts. All of the wooden sidewalks in the city need repairs, ac cording to the report, and It Is recom mended that between 13 and 18 cross walks which are completely gone be torn out. Just 59 persons were found guilty of violating various city ordinances and the state traffic laws during the month of June. City Recorder Thomas FitzGerald's report to the city council shows. Of this number 45 paid fines, 10 forfeited bail and four served Jail sentences. The sum of J362 was col lected on fines. Twenty-five soft drink establishments paid license fees of io each to abide by the ordinance recently enacted by the council. The total value of building work durlnr the month for which permits were taken out was $11,075. Twelve burial permits were granted during June. The report of Fire Chief W. K. Rin gold shows that there were eight fires with a total loss of J1000 for the month. Six of the reports were turned in over the system and two wero telephoned.
