Watters, the new state com mander, will be present and the trans fer of the state headquarters to Sioux Palls will be celebrated. Charles E. Holmes of Sioux Falls has" been se lected . as the presiding officer during the , gathering. Preparations have been made to entertain several hun dred Maccabees and members of the auxiliary, who will come from all parts of the state. . George and Cay Leis were arrested and brought to Plattsmouth Friday evening upon a complaint charging them with making a vicious assault upon Dr. Isaac D. Jones in Murdock, where all the parties reside. Leis filed a petition asking permission to run a saloon and the doctor filed a remonstrance. It is reported that the doctor is in a critical condition. FRUIT GROWERS' TRIP Special Excursion to the East Texas Fruit Country June 20th Prominent Horticulturists Going June 20th, the Cotton Belt Route will run a special train excursion of fruit and truck growers to and through the wonderful East Texas fruit and truck country. 1 The round trip from Sty Louis will consume about a week. The object will be to study conditions of fruit and truck growing in the East Texas country at the height of the harvest season when they are picking- crating and shipping peaches, pdums, tomatoes, potatoes, etc The big orchards will be visited and every opportunity given to see results.
