It was tit first desired that a fire engine bo sent at once from Pun Bluff, but a later message was received saying that the mill could be saved, but that the yard was ; complete loss. it is one of the iarg est lumber concerns in that part of Arkan; as. OCTOBER 15 MISS ARIE FERGUSON, OF PINE BLUFF, And Lieutenant-Colonel Quincy Nash, of Barnesvilie. Ga., Will Be Married. A marriage in which Pine Bluff so ciety is taking more than usual inter est is that of Lieutenant-Colonel J. Quincy Nash, of Barnesvilie, Ga., and Miss Arie Ferguson, of this city, on October 15, at 9 o’clock p. m.. at the First Presbyterian church. Miss Ferguson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Ferguson, and is descended from a long line of colonial ancestry. She is regarded as one of the most accomplished women of Ark ansas. and is a favorite in Pine Bluff society circles. Lieutenant-Colonel Nash is the head of the military department of Gordon Institute of Barnesvilie. Ga.. and is a member of Gov. Candler’s staff. He is the general factotum who attends to everything that is not done by the other servants. He was a great favorite of Gen. Grant, and often went with him as hi' valet on trips around the country. Jerry's antiquity and great popular ity with senators and representatives will probably save him from Mrs. Roosevelt's ruling. The new first lady of the land has ordered a general overhauling of the kitchen and dining-room. Her first innovation in the former place was to order an entire new outfit of tin ware and cooking utensils.
