Harry Dougherty, of the St, Charles Hotel, announces this morning as a candidate for alderman from the Fourth ward, his candidacy being subject to the action of the democra tic city primary of January 17. Mr. Dougherty has been a res i idem, of this city for a number oi years, and has been one of its bus.' citizens. Henry Weimar, the popular drug gist, and now a member of tlw> state board of pharmacy, announces this morning ah a candidate for re-elec tion to the office of alderman from the Fifth ward, his candidacy being subject to the action of the demo cratic primary. Mr. Weimar entered his municipal duties at the urgent request of a number of the large property own ers of Ids ward, and his fidelity to the people of bis section has made him a roost popular official. In the iiiu il he has stood shoulder to shoulder with the administration ui j the many public policies that have! come up for consideration, and to return him lo the council would mean to enuurse not alme his action bn the action of a city administration that is trying to work out a better and bigger Hot Springs.
