The Ouakensup club was entertain ed by Mrs. O. K. Huklll Monday. Not withstanding the inclement weather, moat of the members were present and severul out-of-town guests. After lengthy discussion, the club decided upon an entertainment to raise its ex- j tra scholarship fund. This affair will be given at the- home of Mr. and vtrs. M J. Henderaon, the date to he given later. A most Interesting program then followed. A splendid paper on Plumbing, Fuel and Smoke Abuses, was given by the hostess. New York, April ti The Panama railway awarded the contract for coal at the Panama canal, for the next two years, to ihe Pocahontas Fuel otnpauy of Pocahontas, Va., today. The contract calls for the delivery Of up to 550,00 tons a year at $2 79 a gross ton. with a reduction of 5 cents a ton should the price of coal decline during the second year.
