STRENUOUS LIFE OF
MOTION PICTURE
ST/JR (DESERTS ONE COMPANY
AND HER NEXT PICTURE
BRINGS TROUBLE.
At least two local motion picture
companies are making strenuous ef
forts to secure the first showing of
a picture which has caused no end of
t.oiible and litigation.
Some time since a certain star ac
tress left one company and joined her
fortunes with another. The company
she deserted had started a feature,
picture with her in the title role,
and when she left she took up the
work of producing the picture for her
new employers. Then cumo the trou
ble.
The positive of the first reel was
stolen in New' York, detectives were
employed and court litigation follow
ed before it was finally recovered.
The second reel was staged in Tex
as and before the original copy of It
could be shipped it was mysterious
ly burned.
Alter many trials the picture has
finally been completed. No name has
beffl chosen for it as yet, but local
picture men, knowing the history ot
the picture have been making fran
tic eli'orts to secure it. It has already
been extensively advertised in the
press dispatches and it is a prize
all theater owners are trying to
land. j ,
The release date has been set for
the next week, and some lucky pic
true man will show it.
