Be it ordained and enacted by the coun cil of the incorporated town of De Queen: Act 1. * That’it shall be unlawful for any per son to leave their teams stand ing in the st eets without unhitching them from tie vehicle. Violation of this ordinance will subject the offenders to a tine of one dollar and costs of pros titution for each and every offense. ACT 11. Sec. 1. That ail persons are prohib ited from leaving or boarding the cars at the depot while the trains are in mo tion under penalty of a fine of not less than one nor more than five dollars and the costs of prosecution for each and i very offense. Provided, That this or dinance shall not apply to the opera tors and employes of the Railroad Co. Sec. 2. T1 e Mayor is hereby em powered to grant license to any person < r persons to sell liquors as enumerated i i the preceding section, upon satisfac tory evidence that the person or per sons applying therefor, have obtained •late and county license, and the pre sentation of the receipt of the town treasurer, showing that the license fee as hereinafter fixed has been paid in nil. Sec, 3 The fee or charge for license i hall be twelve dollars and fifty cents for the period of three months: twenty live dollars fur six months, fifty dollars lor one year. Provided, no license shall be issued for a shorter period than three months- Sec. 4. Any person found guilty of ■violating this ordinance shall be fined in any sum not less than twenty-five uor more than on? hundred dollars, and each unlawful sale shall constitute a separate offense. Robert Hendricks and wife of Chapel Hill, was among the call ers at the Bee office Saturday. G. W. Chesher and W. B. Bow. man shipped 153 head of stock cattle to Henrietta, Texas, last week- Prof. John Lamb, one of the ef ficient teachers in the Hesperian High School at Lockesburg, was on our stseets Saturday. O. E. Holman of Holcomb, Ark., was in the city Saturday and while here made us a pleasant call and had his name added to our sub scription list. James A Van Zandt of Silver Hill, whs in the city on business last Saturday and made this office a call and left a final proof notice with us for publication. Mr. Jno. A. Williamson, one of the prominent citizens and lead ing farmers of the Cossatot valley, was in town the latter part of last week looking after business in terests. Fair, Edminson & Ogden is the style of the new firm on Port Ar thur Avenue, that is engaged in the blacksmith and woodwork busi ness. Mr. R, M. Fair is formerly from Lockesburg, and is a first class workman. Mr. Edminson is a good blacksmith and with the assistance of W. H. Force, who has worked at blacksmithing for the past twenty years in Sevier county, makes the blacksmith de partment of the new firm second to none in Southwest Ark. HERE YOU ARE! Clardy at Lockesburg, was a busy scene last Saturday. Mr. Clardy has in vested lavishly in printer’s ink the last month and is now reaping an excellent trade as the result. He says his trade is better than it has been for years. Mr. J. T. Wright of the Jordan Brook neighborhood, knows a good thing when he sees it. He handed us his subscription Satur day at Lockesburg and the Bee will boa regular visitor to his home the ensuing year. Special north-bound engine No. 14 ran into a baud car 8 miles north of here and one mile south of Gillham on the morning of Nov. 1, about 6:50 o’clock, killing the section foreman John Nally, and seriously wounding two others.
