The bride, through her mother’s side, is a lineal descendent of Oliver Cromwell, the most glorious of En gland’s historic rulers. Through her father she inherits the best i.vpp «-f Seotch-Irish blood, a broad and liberal mind, and a piercing intelli gence. Jay, a prominent young farmer of the Troy section of this county, was foully murdered in his own yard by a negro, Oliver Wibwman, or his wife, both of thtin living on the place. It is only within the last 60 years that coal has been mined on a large scale in France. In 1760 the output was only 100,000 tons. In 1643 it was barely 4,000,000 tons. Last year it was 32,000,000. Every one seems to manifest a greater interest than ever in school work. We are sorry to say that Isaac Ward, one of our best pupils has stopped school. We will miss Isaac very much. Bob Parton is out on the scout this week looking for cattle. Miss Myrtle Earley was absent from school Monday on account of bad weather. Artie and Elmer Smoot, who have been absent from school for several weeks have returned to school. We are glad to have them with us again. Duff Stanley, lately of Tennessee was a welcome visitor to onr school Tuesday. Mr. Stanley is a brother to Mrs. John Parton. Mrs G^lleghy, who has been confined to her bed for several weeks, with fever, we are glad to say is recovering. Another Law Firm. Paragould has another new law firm, Bratton & Craig, composed of Jeff Bratton, the well known law yer and justice of the peace, and J T. Craig, late of the firm of Light & Craig. Esq.
