disposed of and in the case of the
People vs. Patterson a discontin

Prof. F.JM. Webster, in charge
of insect investigations, said to
day the pest is not likely to
spread over a large territory, as
it could be checked before it had
gone far.

for exterminating the plague,”
said Prof. Webster. “All farm
ers have to do is to make “(’rid
die mixture.” composed of a half!
barrel of horse manure, 1 pound (
of salt and 1 pound of paris green
If the manure is not fresh the
j salt should be dissolved in water ;
The grasshoppers will eat this
readily and can be poisoned by j
