[ am making my announcement early, so that you who do not know me well may have plenty of time to find out about me before the primary election. George Clark and family at tended the carnival in Holyoke, Sawurday. Mrs. John Avery and Mrs. John Spelts were in Holyoke Sat urday. Hugh Green and wife were Sunday guests at the John Avery home. Lou Speltsand wife of Holyoke spent Friday evening at Nate Spelts’. House theives are busy in some of the neighboring country. Let us hope they dont work this way. POSTPONED The Lucas Shows Which Were te be Hove Monday Lucas and his popular company of classy vaudville artists was un able to open his engagement in Julesburg as advertised on June 26. Bad weather conditions in Ogallala, Neb., where the company is now playing, causing a loss of several nights, the man agement decided to stay over an extrn woek. The Julesburg en gagement will open July third; high cluss vaudeville, featuring Grace and Helen Lucas in a ser-| ies of sensational gymnastic novelty acts and a company of artists in farce comedy and vaude ville of the better class with a change of program nightly. Years of experience has given Mr. Lucas the exact idea of an entertainment that pleases the general public. This show is put on at popular prices and will be the real treat of the season. The opening night, May third will be the big event. The big canvas airdome will be opposite court house. RED LION NEWS L. E. Harrison was buying corn at Jerald’s Monday. Frank Bailar was hauling new alfalfa_hay from the Greeves ranch Friday. i L. E. Harrison and wife called at the P. J. Bankston home Fri day C. F. Parker and family from Julesburg were in the vicinity of Red Lion Friday. L. E. Harrison was a business caller at the Gordon Ranch Tues ‘day. ~ Chas. Lenord and family spent Sunday at the home of Frank Baitar. 5 Lee Bailar was home from the Barton ranch Sunday getting ac quainted with his family. Frank Bailar made a business trip to Haxtun the first of the week and brought home a new corn cultivator. John Mobry is kept busy these days working the roads, as* t-hey. are in very bad shape since the recent rains. Chas. Simpson is putting down a new well, he has it down one hundred and ceven feet and is still going deeper. Charley says he is going down clear out of reach of the typhoid germs. 3 Dr. Davidson of Sedgwick, was in our vicinity Saturday, report ing a bad hail storm at Sedgwick and the country southeast of there. He had a report by telephone from tive miles out that about half the wheat crop had been ruined. A school mecting was held at Frank Bailars Saturday, to make | arrangements to divide the school | District and build a new school house at Red Lion. l Congregational Church Next Sunday we hold our Com munion service. Our Junior Choir i s fairly lluunchod and will take charge of the music at the evening service. A new chancel railing was put |in position this week. A new | pulpit will follow. We are always glad to hear the news| of this lady’s coming into our midst. . ‘ . | Mr. and Mrs. Gus Herfert uud‘ dsughter have just returned from their five week’s vacation. They toured in their automobile thru Wyoming and into the central part of Montana. Their speed ometer registered over 2,000 miles. While gone, they saw several ‘“old timers’’ who used to live here.
