All the schools in district No. 7 started Monday morning. Lillian Walker spent Saturday with Itha Quertermous Dora Loster. spent last week with Mrs. T. E. Howard. The hum of the threshing ma chine is heard in our vicinity. W. G. Walker had the misfor tune to lose a horse last week. Miss Clara Foster spent Satur day of last week in Cheyenne Wells. O. B. Kessler left for Ellis, Ks. Tuesday evening for a few days vacation. Itha Quertermous and Lillian Walker were callers at Cheyenne Wells Sunday afternoon. A. E. Howell and W. G. Wal ker unloaded a car of flour and feed for Dr. Dickson Tuesday. There will be preaching at the Chapel Sunday morning and evening. Everybody welcome. There were a number of friends of B. F. Edwards spent Monday with him to help celebrate his 83rd birthday. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Wyant spent last Wednesday with their son. John, on his homestead, north of town. Mrs. H. A. Tuxhom arrived home Tuesday after spending a couple of months with friends and relatives in Illinois. > FIRST VIEW NEWS. Mrs. T. Hickman is visiting in Cheyenne Wells. Fred Kurtz is helping Anna Gerke cut feed this week. E. C. Baughman departed for Topeka, Kansas, last week. Walter Bryan returned from a trip through Kansas Tuesday. Thomas Mansfield made a busi ness trip to the county seat Sat urday. F. C. Pitt visited with Mrs. Melton and sons between trains Sunday. The Ladies Aid Society will meet with Anna Gerke, Thurs day Sept. 4th. Mrs. Kerr, Mrs. Gowdy, Jos. Mousel and F. Prodoehl spent Tuesday in Cheyenne Wells. J. Hassman, who was spend ing a few days at borne, return ed to Coleridge, Neb., Tuesday. Delbert Smith went to Denver last week to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Smith and his sister, Mrs. A. Holtman. Mrs. Moler and daughter, Dol ly, and Joseph Dwyer went to the county seat Tuesday to make final proof on their homesteads. Mr. Priess and Mr. Sears pass ed through going from Cheyenne Wells to Arena with a load of household goods for Mr. Sears. W. F. Armentrout and daugh ter, Retha, Mrs. J. C. Russell and Mrs. D. H.
