We saw J. P. Cahill out riding
with one of our young damsels
one day this week. If it was
not for making trouble we would
tell his wife, but we will let it
pass this time.
Ralph Groff returned home
from Colorado Springs Thursday
evening of last week, where he
has been on a short visit. He
like many others, had to come
home for the fair.
Cheyenne Wells now sports a
public drinking fountain, at the
southeast corner of ti e court
house yard. This is certainly a
good move, as that is what has
been wanting for some time.
The Union Pacific Railroad

Thomas O’Brien, a former res
ident of this city, was an arrival
Wednesday morning from Hoven
S. Dak., where he holds a very
responsible position in ihe bank.
Mr. O’Brien’s many friends are
glad to see him again.
J. N. Hollenbaugh says that it
don’t make any difference wheth
er his wife comes home or not.
he is going to have a good time
at the fair. But we think from
the looks of his face that he feels
doubtful about the good time.
If you want to go into a nice
cozy place to rest and gaze around
you should go to Sears & Hollen
baugh ’s Garage. They have had
their office nicely fixed up and
painted a delicate g.-een, Ray
Counts did the painting, and it
is fine.

We omitted to mention in our
last weeks issue of the Record
J about Miss Leta Trumbor going
,to Boulder, Colo., to attend col
lege. Miss Leta was the one
who received the highest honors
from the Cheyenne County High
School last year, and was accor
! ded one years free tuition at the
( State University at boulder,
Colorado.
Married— At the residence of
W. E. Yore, of this city, on
Thursday Sept., 4, 1913. Mr.
Leroy Norris, and Miss Lemah E
Gorsuch, of Sharon Springs,
Kansas, were united in the Holy
bonds of matrimony, Judge
Spencer officiating.
The young couple are well and
favorably known to the editor of
the Record and we join with
their many friends in wishing
them a long and prosperous wed
ded life,
Mrs. A. D. Schultz departed
for her home at Frednes Pors
grund, Norway, over the frog
pond, Thursday morning of last
week, where she will visit with
home folks for a short time.
Her sister, Miss Clara Peterson
accompanied her. The Record
is going to furnish her with all
the latest news of good “old
Cheyenne” county. We wish
them a pleasant journey and a
safe return.
Talk about your rains, we cer
tainly had one of the finest
rains in this section Monday
night and Tuesday morning that
we have in some time. It came
so nice and easy. It was one of
those old fashioned rains, coming
in such a manner that the ground
drank it up as it came, There
being by gov rnment measure
75-100ths of an inch. This will
make the farmers get a hustle on
themselves and put in a lot of
wheat this fall. t
It has been rumored on ou l '
street corners and business
houses time and time again, that
the happy marriage-bells would
soon be ringing for one of our
popular young men. Now, this
young man is none other than
Wm. Moldenhauer, who recently
purchased a lot west of the court
house and is now building a nice
little cottage on his premises.
Good luck to you Bill, is the
wishes of the Record, and may
all your troubles, be little ones.
Miss Pauline Snydall, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Snydall. was
bitten by a pet catjast Saturday.
l lt seems the cat without any
' provocation leaped through the
screen door and immediately
jumped on the little girls foot
and commenced to bite her heel,
it bit her in six places before thte
| cat could be removed. The doc
tor was called and dressed the
wound, and now the little girl is
getting along nicely, and we pre
sume the cat is, for E. J. dis
patched it with his little gun.
