Dr. Eagle and family left the latter part of last week for Col- j umbus, Ohio, to assist in trying to eradicate the "hoof and mouth disease,” which is so prevalent in the east. Mrs. Eagle will vis it in Kansas City until the Dr. returns. An African sun '.set will be a spec al feature of the program. Cake walks, good music, etc will add to the merri ment of the evening. Every body cordially invited. Ladies please bring boxes, they require no decorations. Gentlemen will please bring well filled purses. Obituary of J. C. Magwire. John C. Maguire was born in the state of Pennsylvania, Sept. 27, 1854, departed this life at Cheyenne Wells, Colo, on Tues day November 17, 1914, at 4:15 a. in. Aged GO years, 1 month and 20 days. He with his parents moved from Pennsylvania to lowa in the early days, and in 188 G he moved to Nebraska. On September 22nd, 1887, he was married to Carrie Ann Linn, at Madison, Neb. To this union eleven children were born, eight of whom were at his bedside . when he died, two were in Neb. 1 son died in infancy. He had six sisters and three brothers of which there are four ■ sisters and two brothers living. He moved from Nebraska to Cheyenne county, Colorado, in 1907, and lived "on a homestead for a few years, after which they moved to Cheyenne Wells, since which time they have been keep ing a boarding house. Mr. Magwire was a good hus band, a loving father, and a hard working man, up to nearly ayear ago, since which time he has been unable to do much work. He has been a long and patient sufferer never complaining about his infirmities, until the Lord re ' leased his spirit and took it to its home, not made by human hands. He died peacefully, as though going to sleep. The funeral sermon was held |at his late residence on Wednes ! day Nov. 18, 1914, by Rev. S. j Whiting, after which the remains . were taken to Newman Grove, | Neb., for interment, j The bereaved family have the j deepest sympathy of a host of friends in this community, who sympathize with them in their hour of distress.
