They will use one of the books from the teach ers’ reading circle that is recom mended by the state. Mr. Akerly has built lockers in the manual training room and other improvements that will aid the work and also ke%p the room cleaner. He has also installed a ! stove in the domestic science j room that he may have that for ! a gluing room. Mr, and Mrs. Kanneberg, of Wild Horse, spent the greater part of Monday around the schools watching the work of Edwin. They were especially j pleased with the personal inter-1 est taken in him by his teachers. 1 They were greatly interested when they saw a beautiful quar-1 tered oak piano bench that Ed- ‘ win has nearly completed. It is very gratifying to the teachers to have parents come in and see 1 what their children are doing. | One of the business men made a verp good criticism of the high I school work this week. He said the high school pupils as a rule were miserable penmen. He could have said that they were 1 poor spellers also. But spelling is given in the high school twice j a week, a subjetc very rarely . taught in high schools. Perhaps the writing can be remedied. Honest criticism is good for a scho'l.
