Methodist Church Notes
Dr. Henderson preached to us
Monday evening. We enjoyed
his discourse very much. The 3
Quarterly, Conference was held
immediately after the sermon.
Sunday Morning May 29th the
Rev. Leslie M. Parker L. L. D.
will deliver the Memorial address
at the church, Mr. Parker is a
brother of Charley Parker and is
well known in this community.
Plan to hear him.
Friday evening May 27th there
will be a Hav-ride party for the
Young Peoples Society. Meet at
the church, 'and hayracks will be
provided for your conveyance.'

Brief Outline of our Visit to
Denver and the Mountains
Last Friday morning the editor
and wife, and daughter, Ruby,
accompanied by our son, Harry,
and wife, started on a Jfew days
four days sojourn in Denver and
the mountains. We noticed on
our way that the fall and spring
grain along the line was looking
line, and bids fair to make a big
crop in Cheyenne county. We
arrived in Denver the same after
noon, so we did not have much
time to visit along the route.
Before arriving in Denver we
noticed the Soldiers Recuperation
Camp at Aurora, they have some
fine buildings there for the Sol
dier boys, and every appearance
bears out '.he sign that the boys
are being well cared for, and ev
erything made as comfortable as
possible for them.

for Bear C. . : canon, going thru
Morrison, Evergreen, and several
other towns, until we reached
Look Out Mountain, where we
visited Wm. Cody (Buffalo Bill’s)
grave, and from there we went
down to Golden, where we met
j several old friends who used to
live in Cheyenne county, among
whom were Mrs. C. W. Auten,
John Owens, Mrs. Wm. Owens,
Fred Schneider, and we saw
where T. M. Kistler lived, and
had we had time we should have
weit out to see Lee Wiedman an
other former Cheyenne county
citizen, then we returned to Den
ver.
Sunday'we took in Denver, we
went around town taking in the
different sights, visiting the dif
ferent parks in the city and re
turned Mr and Mrs Lee Kjhhee’'
where we stepped for supper, af
ter sjpper, it was proposed that
we go to Lakeside, which propo
sition was acted upon promptly,
and we took in everything, and
there were many, and we must
say, there are many very inter
esting scenes to be seen there,
especially after night, Electric
Motor boats, sailing on the water
the electric trains running around
the lake, the Dutch Mill and ca
nal with people in boats sailing
around the canal, the big Ferris
wheel and the different colored
buildings, in fact, many things
which we have not not time to
enumerate. After which we re
turned to our rooms at the Milo
Hotel, tired and weary.
After a good night’s rest, we
started on our homeward journey
Everything passed off nicely, un
til after passing through Hugo,
where we began to encounter
mud; Hnd the farther we came
this way the worse it was, part
of the time we were not sure
whether we were in our c ir or
in a motor boat, the water in
the roads being so deep from the
rain cf that evening.
Af.er traveling from 9 o'clock
P. M. from Hugo, we arrived'at
Cheyenne Wells at 3 o’clock A.
M. the next morning, tired and
weary after our four days
vacation and we are again' “hit
ting the cases” to get out this
issue of the Record.
