In the Thespian Company we have three versatile young ladies who will give such a program. The little comedy “Forty Years Ahead” is full of laughs. “The White Lie” will picture us as others sec us. “The Home Call” io a scene in a girls* dormitory and a fuss over new hats. This company covered Standard’s Southern Five Circuit last year and was the big success of the circuit. Let’s make the first day of our chautauqua a big day. The Thespians will do their part if you do yours. Cheyenne Record. CHEYENNE WELLS, CHEYENNE COUNTY, COLORADO, THURSDAY, JUNE 23. 1921 County Commissioners’ Proceedings. Cneyende Wells, Colo., June 7th, 1921. Board of County Commissioners met ns per adjournment with the follow ing members present: J. W. Shy, Chairman, Walter Ramsay and A. I. John son. C-mimiosioners. Present also G. 11. Akerly, Clerk. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. The questionaire from the State Highway Engineer regarding road equipmenu, wages paid etc., being re ceived by the county clerk, was presented to the board and properly tilled out and ordered returned to the Statu Highway Engineer. Road petition of S J Adams aud ochsrs wa* presented and ordered laid over for investigation. Road viewers’ report upon the petition F 1 Boyack and others was again presented and the following resolution offered and adopted that, Whereas, the report appears te be complete in all details, Therefore Be It Resolved, that the report be approved and the route as prayed for in the peti tion be and the same is hereby declared a public highway. Road viewers’ report upon petition of O E Mayfield and otheis was again presented and the following resolution offered, that, Whereas, the report ap pears to be complete and is not-damaging to the interest of the abutting land owners in excess of the benefits derived therefron. Therefore Be It Resolved, that the report be approved and the route designated therein be and the same is hereby declared a public highwuy, to-wit: Coiutnencsng at the NE corner of Sec. 24, Twp. 13, Rrnge 43, thence running westerly approximately 4 miles to the NG corner of Sec. 20, Twp. 13, Range 43, thence northerly approximately 2 miles to tho NE cornes of Sec. 8. Twp. 13 Range 43, thence westerly approxi mately <5 miles to the NE corner of Sec. rt, Twp. 13, Range 44. Tho between the Levy Construction Company and the Board of County Commissioners for the construction of the Rush Creek, also the con tract for construction of the single span bridge north of Wild Horse, were pre nented'and duly signed, and duplicates forwarded to the said Levy Construction Company, Deuver, Col<*. In the matter of the contract for construction of a dirt till across the lagoon on State Highway No. >52, section 3, twp. 15, rang- 48, which was let April 4th, IW2I tho following resolution was offered and adopted, that, Whereas, it being specified it. said c»ntract*thnt the dirt fur this Hll was to be taken from the bed of the lag >on which was dry at the date of letting of said contract, and Whereas, soon thereafter, heavy rains have caused said lagoon to ba tilled with water, anti have made it necessary to take tho dirt from borrow pits neur the eods|of suid till, which creates an extra amount of labor and expense. Therefore Be It Resolved, that the contractor be allowed 12 cts per cubic yard extru for the completion of said contract. The County Treasures appeared before the Board with a request that the fund carried upon the books of the county treasurer known as the County Bond Redemption Fund be transferred to the Ordinary Revenue Fund. Therefo.e the following resolution was offered and adopted that Whereas, tho oonds issued April Ist, 1903 to satisfy the judgment of Bent county having all been paid off this fund is no longer necessary. The refore Be It Resolved, that the balanoe remaining in said fund be trans ferred 'o the x.Uinary revenue fund. A number of resident taxpayers from tne town of Kit Carson appeared be fore the board askiug that a final settlement be made as to the routing of State Highway No. 32, through the town of Kit Carson, aud all residents affected by the p oposed change of routing not being present, it was finally agreed that the ho ird would meet with the resident taxpayers of Kit Carson at 9 o'clock a. in. Jjne 8;h, 1921. with the understanding that due notice be given all those inter ested to be present. Whereupon, adlyurnment was taken until 9 o’clock a. m. June Bth, 1921- Cheyenne Wells, Colo June V, 1921 Board of county commissioners met with the following members present, J W Shy chairman A I Johnson and Walter Ramsay commissioner.^ As agreed upon June 7th, the board proceeded to the town of Kit Carson, Colo and there met withtfthe resident property owners whose property adjoins the state highway No. 32. and the following resolution was offered and adop ted, That whereas, after due consideration, and It being agreeable to those present Be it Resolved, That the routing of said state highway No. 32, begin at the new new 00001*616 bridge across Horse creek, and from thence east on Third street, Wolfe’s addition fo the town of Kit Carson, Colo,to the northeas cor ner of lot one, block 11, said Wolfe’s addition, and from thence on making a slight detour east and south and connecting with the section (where highway is already established) approximately 730 ft from tne said northeast corner of lot one, block II Wolfes addition. Ambrosier and wife of Arapahoe were buisiness visitors at Cheyenne Wells Monday and on account of the heavy rain were compelled to remain over night. They spent the night with his sister, Mrs. C. T.
