Don Curliss returned home Monday night from a six weeks trip which took him up into Min nesota, Wisconsin and other points. Mr. Curliss reports that his wife will also be home Friday, coming down from Boulder. The town council of Seibert have approved a contract with Flagler to purchase electric cur rent, paying therefor 7 cents ptr kilowatt hour for the first 1000, 6 cents for the second 1000, and 5 cents for all over 2000. Seibert constructs the line and takes the juice at Flagler. Nineteen hour service is guaranteed. Flagler has a new Fairbanks-More oil engine plant that is larger than the town repuires. The Settler would like to see posted at each of the places where the highways enter town, a sign board, bearing this inscrip tion. "Welcome to Seibert; please drive safely and close your cutout.” In addition to this en forcement of the cutout closing should be absolute, so that all conversation, business, telephon ing and sane thinking would not have to cease every time some one decided to back a Lizzie out of the parking space, with the cutout open, ana roaring like a Mercedes Twin-B—Seibert Settler The wheat field of Conrad Herr which had a fire from the railroad ! a couple of weeks ago, caught again last Friday with a prettv hird vi dbliwing and a con siderable quantity of it burned. Among the damage was the loss of six stacks of wheat that had just been headed and put in the stack shortly before. The fire was prevented from getting across the state road on the north , I which would have left it open to: j contidue across the cjuntry. It | -did get near enough to cause! some worry ar.d a thresher work-1 ing across the road was moved ; to safety in case the fire jumped the road.—Akron Reporter. Something very much out of the ordinary way of expressing feelings for a newspaper force occured in our office Saturday monring. The usual custom of an editor was to reach for his "shootin iron” every time the door swung open as he could ex pect a good cussing or a fistic performance. Our case is en tirely different, when a dear old lady approached our sanctuary Satureay last with her arms full of beautiful flowers which she left with us with her best wishes for our prosperity. There will be a special call next Sunday for new members o the church. Baptism will be admin istered to any who wish to be baptised. The sermon Sunday morning will have to do with the recon ciliation of disarmament and peace. It. is a greater heroism that calls for peace than for war. D. ranch, at Aroya, was in Chey enne Wells Tuesday, coming down to attend the meeting of the Fair Association which was held that evening.
