V Jimmy Coon WS
JIMMY COON FOLLOWS TEDDY
POSSUM.
WHEN Peter Rabbit led the way
to the Jones’ farm they came to
a ploughed field and this is the place
where Mr. Toad joined the chase.
He hopped right into line right after
Peter Rabbit and hopped along un
til Jimmie Coon, running as hard as
he could, stepped right on his back
and knocked him over.
Os course Jimmie Coon didn’t mean
it, and Mr. Toad was more mad than
hurt, so he rolled under the hedge
ad didn’t try to join in this game
any more.
When the Squirrels led, they kept
to the tops of the trees and so lit
tle Peter Rabbit and his family
wouldn’t play at all. As they were
chasing along they came in the top
of a tall tree, to a place where two
porcupines sat. And they wouldn’t
budge. So as the animals couldn’t
climb over them, they had jumped
clear across to the next tree.
This was very easy for all the
Squirrels and the Coons and the Pos
sums to do.
Chatterbox, the Red Squirrel, al
though he could do such things with
the greatest ease, got very much e *’
cited and called out directions
loud voice and old Mr. Crow was stir
red up and his voice was hoarse
with excitement.

When the Squirrels led the game
Jimmie Coon and Teddy Possum
stopped out of it long enough to eat
a few birds’ eggs, and v'hen they

began again their fur vests were
stained with the yellow of yolks.
Now it was Teddy Possum’s turn
to lead, and he set the pace for
them all. He felt fresh and rested
I .account of his little lunch of
bird’s eggs and so np leader ran as
fast as Teddy Possum. His long
tail was a great help to him, too,
for he could swing along by it from
one tree to another.
When they began this race Peter
Rabbit was second, but he soon drop
ped out, and Jimmie Coon came at
Teddy Possum’s heels.
Teddy Possum was too fast even
for Jimmie, and as the night was
closing in, even with Jimmie’s sharp
eyes, once in a while he lost sight
of Teddy Possum. When this hap
pened, Chatterbox would often tell
him where to run, and sometimes
Jimmie would make the wrong turn
and have to go back and go in an
other direction.
After a while he couldn’t seem to
find Teddy at all, and what dread
ful things do you thing happened?
Jimmie Coon was runing towards
the brook in the deep ferns, and he
came to Quilly Porcupine’s house
and thought he saw Teddy Possum
run into that house. So he darted
right in the front door, as he sup
posed after Teddy Possum.
Do you think Teddy Possum was
there? That is another story.

"a¥lendid TONIC"
Says Hixson Lady Who, On Doc
tor’s Advice, Took Cardni
And Is Now Well.
Hixson, Tenn. —“About 10 years ago
I was...” says Mrs. J. B. Gadd, of
this place. “I suffered with a pain in
my left side, could not sleep at night
with this pain, always in the left
side...
My doctor told me to use Cardul. I
took one bottle, which helped me and
after my baby came, I was stronger
and better, but the pain was still
there.
I at first let it go, but began to get
weak and in a run-down condition,
so I decided to try some more Cardul,
which I did.
This last Cardui Which I took made
me much better,Xu fact, cured me. It
has been a number of years, still I
have no reiafn of this trouble.
I feel U was Cardul that cured me,
and I J?ecommend it as a splendid fe
male/4onic.” < w— ►- -*j
&oa’t allow yourself to become
wfeak and run-down from womanly
troubles. Take Cardui. It should sure
ly help you, as it has so many thou
sands of other women in the past 40
/years. Headache, backache, sideache,
I nervousness, sleeplessness, t’red-out
feeling, are all signs of womanly trou

Cardul. Why not you? All druggists.
