At Shellman, a few days ago, a neuro by the name of Henry Law, under the influe weof liquor, got to fussing with Johu Melton, and the former having a lavge knife gave the latter a chase through town. Marshal Cox, seeing the chase, tried to arrest Law, which caused great excitement. As they were chasing through Crittenden Bros’ store Marshal Cox stumbled by some cause and Law,seein that he had the advantage, junpad on Cox, but as ax handlea and 10 pourd weights were plentiful the clerks ai d others kept Law from doing any rerious damage. McLain of this city and county. The blsody assassin has been apprehended snd is now in jail at Americus.
