Deputy Sheriff Nicks, of Morenci, went down to Dnncan Monday and returned Tuesday. Up to Monday last seven camps had been established on the line of the Mor enci Southern. L. Fraissinet, manager of the A. C Co. stores, will return from New York about the 20th inst Mrs. S. W. Price has leased her lodg ing house and restaurant on Chase Creek to Mrs. A. S. Baker. Do you know that L. W. Smith will take your order for magazines, and de liver them when they arrive? Chas. M. Shannon and wife returned Saturday, Mr. Shannon from Silver City and Mrs. Shannon from Denver. The postoffice at Morenci has been placed upon the presidential list, to take effect April J, with a salary of $1,100 per annum. When you want fine cabinet work, of fice or store work, wood mantels, screens, etc., and any good work, done on short notice, call on E. N. Prattymau. A typographical error occurs in the item entitled "Incendiarism at Morenci." It should read "the little town of east Morenci," instead of "lawn of east Mor enci." No proof was taken of the piece. Mr. and Mrs. John Shuttleworth are rejoicing aver the advent to their home of a bouncing girl baby weight 12 lbs. last Tuesday, and now Tom Jones, the lineman, is all swelled up on account of being called "ancle." Joe Hill returned to Clifton Monday after nearly a rear's absence at Duncan and the Ash Peak mining district. When he left here he was almost a confirmed invalid, but he has entirely regained his health and is now at work. Mrs. John Driscoll, who was called to Engle, Colo., about six weeks ago to see her mother who was considered danger ously ill, returned Tuesday, her moth er having entirely recovered and will join her daughter in Clifton soon. Our friend, Lloyd Payne, expects to sail for Merrie England at an early date to visit, so he says, his relatives and many friends at his old home in Devon shire, but the Eba has been informed, by some of his friends here, that it is his intention to quit this life of single blessedness and take unto himself a bet' ter half who will accompany him on his return trip to America next fall. In this he is a wise man; but why go all the way back to England for a girl when there are some as pretty and accom plished girls right here in Clifton as can be found anywhere across the dark blue sea.
