Those who have not previously registered for a village election are required to do so in order to vote. At the elect ion five trustees will be selected, the present incumbents being S. H. Grif fiths. W. H. Johns, H. F Neal. Henry Taylor and J. S. Dewhirst. While no definate anouncement has been made, it is understood the pres ent members will stand for reelection if the citizens so indicate their desire at a mass meeting, which will soon be called to nominate a ticket. DEWEY HIGH LEA" FINALLY REPORTED AS KILLED Several times this paper has men tioned the disappearance of Dewey Hfghley, the soldier boy, and anxiety as to his fate. The war department notified his father J. F. Highley, this week that his son had undoubtedly been killed in action, at one of the battles in the Argonne forest, in France. Dewey was a brave soldier, and a fine young man. He enlisted with the hoys in Co. H. and was sent to France early in the war. This announcement adds another to the roll of honor of Meridian boys who gave their lives for their country. O. E. ALLISON HAS SOLD HIS FARM NEAR MERIDIAN Attention is called to the public sale next Tuesday of O. E. Allison, at • the place 2 % miles southeast of Mer idian. Mr. Allison sold the 80 acres this week to Ed Miller, of Bnrley, Idaho, for $18,000, or $225 an acre. The purchaser will lake possession Mr. and Mrs. Allison plan at once. to go to Boise fob a few weeks and then will start in their auto for Napa, Calif., for a summer's trip. Meridian people will regret that the family will leave. They moved to the farm near here five years ago. One of their boys Oliver, is now in France The Other son, Wilfred, gave his life for his country, his death resulting ff'om spinal meningitis. This was (trough t on from a shock received when blown several feet in the air, when his vessel was struck and sank by a german submarine. Mil.I,IS The Time« regret« to record the death of Mr«. Anna L. MIDI«, at the family home 2Y. miles southwest of Meridian, Saturday, March 15, 1919. from complications following influ enza, one of the symptoms being sleeping sickness, a form of menin gitis. Anna L. Sutherland was born in Calhoun county, Michigan, Feb. 21, 1866, and June 24, 1896, she was married to John Millis, at Manastee, Michigan. The family moved to Or egon and then to Buhl, Idaho, and last September located on a farm near Meridian. They have two child ren, a daughter Mrs Eva Power, who came from Hanna. Alberta, Canada, to attend the funeral, also a son Phil lip, who is at home. The funeral was held at a Nampa chapel Tuesday, and interment was at KohlerlaWn. The family, who are strangers In the Meridian commun ity have the sympathy of our people. is Card of Thanks. The Loyal Berean class of the Bible social with school gave a St. Patrick's Monday night in connection their business meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hedges.
