We learn that three deaths occurred at that place in one day from the abuve disease. Subscriptions to the fair are coming in lively. On last Friday night Mr. Jas. M. Maxwell, an industrious farmer, of the 17th district, had 8145 stolen from his house. The money was in a room adjoining his bed room. Thieve3 entered through the win dow and prized open a draw in which the money was deposited. Mr. Maxwell has no idea who com mitted the robbery. Plumb died very suddenly in Washington Monday of apoplexy. He was a republican, and has represented Kansas in the United States sen ate since 1S77. The Kansas law provides that m the event ot the death of a senator, the vacancy shall be filled by the governors appoint ment, until the next meeting of the legislature.
